Upside Down Planters Are a Great Way to Grow Tomatoes!
Upside Down Planters Are a Great Way to Grow Tomatoes!

Not All Inverted Vegetables (or fruits as the case may be) are Created Equal.

It's that time of year again, time to get going on growing tomatoes.

One of the best ways to grow tomatoes these days is upside down! Yes, when it comes to your tomato plants, upsdie down is the new right side up. You can purchase a Topsy Turvy Upside-Down Tomato Planter, Or you can build one your self.

Either way, it really is a great way to grow tomatoes. By having the plants up off the ground you avoid having your young tender fledgling plants be some nasty insect's dinner. It also prevents many forms of fungus etc from forming. Plus, when your tomatoes get to the point of being huge plump red balls of flavor and it's time to harvest, you don't even have to get down on your hands and knees to pick them.

You can very easily build your own hanging upside down planter by poking holes in the bottom of a five gallon pail, inserting your seedlings through the holes and filling the rest of the pail with ferlilized top soil. simply hang the the pail up in a warm spot. (Tomatoes love sun and heat) Be careful not to hang them where they might be exposed to cool breezes etc.

Then give them lots of water and soon you'll be giving away tomatoes to anything that moves!
